A few days ago my brother Mark returned from a couple of backcountry trips in the South Island, bringing with him this footage. I rate it as some of the most amazing big trout film I’ve seen – and it includes, I have to admit, some very cool-headed fishing from Mark! Watch him ‘pull’ the cast at about 1’40” just as the trout is about to turn towards him. Then, after the fish refuses the dry, he remembers the nymph; something the audience evidently forgot!
