We’ve been keeping you up to date about Victoria’s Wild Trout Fisheries Management Program on these pages for several months. Now details have been announced for a free conference to provide anglers with all the latest news about the Program and its findings to date.
Fisheries scientists will present the results from the first year of field work, including:
- Survey findings from 12 wild trout rivers
- Associations between bankside vegetation and trout food
- Measuring fishing pressure on our trout fisheries
- Trout movement in the Delatite River from the tracking project
- Measuring the effectiveness of stocking wild trout streams
The conference will also feature a key note address from Dr Dan Dauwalter of Trout Unlimited.

Trout Film Festival
In conjunction with the conference, the Mansfield and District Fly Fishers Club is hosting a Film Festival from 7.30pm featuring a series of short films about trout fishing.
Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children. Bookings can be made when registering online for the free conference.
