As FlyStream approaches its 4th birthday, we decided it was a good time for a makeover. So we asked what we do well, and what we could do better.
One thing we know we’ve done well is our blog, which is incredibly popular with tens of thousands of readers. Another thing we know is that while our subscribers enjoy the look of our online magazine, we simply haven’t been able to make it as user-friendly as the blog. So, we’ve completely rethought the best way to deliver FlyStream content.
From 1 September 2017 readers will have a choice of:
The Stream – Basic Content
The blog page will be replaced by The Stream. Short articles on The Stream (the old blogs) will continue to be free, although readers will need to register a free subscription. If you’ve previously registered for the Forum, you probably already have access.
The Stream – Premium
Meanwhile, our quarterly magazine content will continue to be delivered each Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
– Each quarter, five features and five columns will be progressively released as Premium content on The Stream. (As with our previous online magazine, that’s 20 features and 20 columns a year.)
– Premium content will be automatically available to existing subscribers for the duration of their existing subscription.
– New subscribers can access Premium articles with a Premium or Premium Plus subscription.
Premium articles will have this stamp. Regular articles will continue to be free to read via a simple once-off registration (or if you’re already a Forum user, your existing registration should work).
It’s now easy for registered users to see the status of their subscription simply by clicking on the My Account link at the bottom of any page once you’re logged in. If you’re unsure of your subscription status, now’s a great time to Log In and check it.
To take the fuss out of going through the checkout process every twelve months, we’ve enabled automatic subscription renewal. You’ll get an email when your subscription is due and you can opt out at any time.
Our hardcopy FlyStream Annual will continue to be released each year in time for Christmas: now with four brand new articles, along with the best five features from the previous 12 months. You can get the Annual as part of your subscription or you can purchase individual issues on the Magazine page. Our top-level Premium Plus Subscription gives you priority delivery of the next FlyStream Annual, plus unrestricted access to all content on FlyStream.com, including The Stream feature articles and columns.
With these changes, we hope to offer even more exclusive, user-friendly content to subscribers.
