Our fourth Annual has arrived from the printers. This issue, we’ve taken a slightly different approach by including four totally new features, as well as our usual ‘best of’ selection from the last 12 months of online content.

The print-only stories include Andrew Fuller’s adventure to a prolific steelhead river (you don’t often hear those three words together!), Nick Taransky explaining what is probably the best drag-defeating technique out there, Stewart Dick on the agony and ecstasy of Tasmanian tailers, and my take on using indicators on lakes – there’s more to it than you might think.

Timothy Nash visits West Gippsland, I travel to the Mt Buller area, Steve Dunn tries comparing two iconic Snowy Mountains rivers, and Andrew Fuller has a trip with a difference to the Tiwi Islands.

From our regulars, Peter Hayes learns some lessons from last season, Jim Allen praises observation, Andrew Fuller nominates the best fly gear from 2017, and Craig Coltman ties a winning nymph.

That should be plenty of holiday reading for when you’re not out doing the real thing!
